Surgery-Avoidance Assessment

Your scoliosis is 3D. Your assessment should be too.

A focused 30–45 minute live video assessment that looks beyond the Cobb angle—at posture, movement, visible rotation, muscle imbalance and rib-hump presentation—so you understand the next intelligent step.

The Surgery-Avoidance Assessment is a fitness-based movement-assessment and decision-support service. It is not a diagnosis, medical consultation or guarantee that surgery will be avoided.

30–45 minutes · Live with Kamilio

What your assessment includes

  • Live 1:1 assessment

Direct time with Kamilio focused on your or your teenager’s individual presentation.

  • 3D movement observations

A clear explanation of the visible asymmetries and movement factors observed during the call.

  • What to focus on first

Understand which muscle imbalances and movement limitations deserve attention first, and why they matter for your training.

  • Honest suitability decision

Clarity on whether fitness-based personalized training may fit your situation, without pressure to continue.

The assessment is not a medical diagnosis or a complete personalized exercise program. Individualized left-right exercise selection requires adequate assessment and, when appropriate, is delivered through a separate personalized program.

Built for real decisions

Who this assessment is for

  • Parents of teenagers

You want to understand more than the curve number and make better-informed decisions during growth.

  • Adults with scoliosis

You want a training direction built around your posture, movement, strength and individual goals.

  • People considering next steps

You have tried generic exercises or failed other methods and need a structured fitness-based perspective.

  • International clients

You need specialist online access without travel. A parent or guardian should attend when the client is a minor.

  2. Live movement review

Review posture, gait, visible rotation, rib-hump presentation, muscular imbalance and key movement patterns.

  3. Your next-step strategy

Understand the main training priorities, what may be appropriate, and whether personalized SpineX programming is a suitable next step.

Individual client stories

One client’s documented training journey

This female client followed the SpineX™ 3D Scoliosis Method for approximately 12 weeks. Her radiology reports recorded Cobb-angle measurements of 53° before and 42° afterward.

Reports record 53° on 4 October 2023 and 42° on 29 December 2023. Reported measurement levels differ; this is not a standardized clinical comparison.

This documents an individual training journey, rather than the assessment alone. Results vary from person to person.

Why this is different

X-rays matter. But they do not show the whole person.

X-rays provide important medical information about spinal structure and Cobb-angle measurements. Understanding the person also means considering how they stand, move and control their body. Lucia’s journey below shows why those additional observations matter.

Lucia’s journey · Age 12

X-rays show bones. They don’t show functional muscle imbalances.

Before starting SpineX training, Lucia had visible upper-back asymmetry. During her assessment and training, we identified significantly weaker muscles in her upper-left back compared with her upper-right back.

Her personalized program included unilateral—one-sided—strengthening for the upper-left back, aimed at improving overall muscular balance. The photos below show her visible posture progress during training.

That is why SpineX also assesses muscle imbalances, posture and movement. This is Lucia’s individual training journey. Results vary from person to person.

Frequently asked questions

Can this assessment guarantee surgery avoidance?

No. Surgery-Avoidance Assessment is the service name, not a guarantee. The session helps you understand movement and training considerations that may support better-informed decisions alongside appropriate medical care.

Do I need an X-ray?

An X-ray is helpful context when available, but the assessment does not replace imaging or medical interpretation. Bring recent reports or images if you have them.

What should I prepare?

Use a phone or computer with stable internet and enough space to stand, walk and perform simple movements on camera. Wear fitted, comfortable clothing that allows posture and movement to be observed.

How does international scheduling work?

After purchase, you receive a scheduling link. Available times are displayed in your local time zone. Your assessment must be booked within 30 days of purchase.

Will I receive exercises during the call?

The assessment provides observations, priorities and next-step guidance. It is not the complete personalized exercise program. If individualized programming is appropriate, the available options will be explained separately.

Is this medical treatment?

No. SpineX provides fitness-based education, movement assessment and personalized exercise programming. It does not diagnose, replace medical care or tell you to stop bracing or disregard surgical advice.

Can personalized training complement scoliosis bracing?

Yes. Bracing and exercise have different roles and may be used together when appropriate. For some growing teenagers, prescribed bracing is an important part of managing progression risk. SpineX provides individualized fitness-based training around the person’s movement, strength and medical restrictions.

If your child finds a brace difficult to wear, discuss comfort, fit and the prescribed schedule with the treating clinician and orthotist. An assessment can help clarify training priorities; it does not establish that training can replace a brace. Decisions to start, change or stop bracing remain with the treating medical team. Lucia’s story is one family’s experience and does not predict another child’s outcome.
